  • Remove the phone's SIM card
  • Make sure service is no longer active

What parts of wireless phones are recyclable?

  • Batteries are recycled for their nickel, iron, cadmium, lead, and cobalt
  • Accessories including headsets, power packs, and clips can also be recycled
  • Circuit boards can be recycled to recover metals such as gold, silver and palladium and other materials like copper lead and zinc
  • Wireless handsets may be recycled for their plastics
