AUSTIN, Texas, September 2, 2007, (Austin American-Statesman) -- Large companies are investing heavily in providing mobile devices, including smartphones and personal digital assistants, for workers who spend plenty of time outside the office.
Movêro Technology Inc. of Austin is building its portfolio of software and services to help corporate clients do a better job of managing their devices and securing the information they contain.
Movêro has revamped its software tools into a comprehensive package called Maestro to help its clients have better control and automated support.
Business is expanding rapidly, said CEO Bruce Friedman, a former Sprint executive. He says the company has nearly tripled in size to about 100 workers in the past year.
One big customer is the State of Florida, which uses Movêro to help manage devices health care professionals use to track treatments and drugs prescribed to Medicaid patients.
Movêro frequently works with clients that want to manage a few thousand devices, but Friedman says it is seeing bigger contracts now for managing 15,000 or more devices.
Friedman says his company is one of the leaders in its emerging business niche of managed mobile services.
